What now?

I just want someone to tell what the right answer is.  I am tired of trying to figure it out.

The reality is that it is highly unlikely that I will ever get pregnant on my own.  (I know, everyone knows someone who did and that would be great.  If you feel compelled to share this story with me, DON'T!)

So I'm left with medically induced assistance.

Pros:  may become pregnant with a healthy pregnancy and have that second child that I dream about and wish for often

Cons:  very expensive, painful (literally), time consuming (mentally and physically), high chance of miscarriage, might not work

From a rational, no emotion point of view, the cons clearly outweigh the pros.  Except that pro is what I have always wanted.

So, we most likely will jump back on the proverbial horse and open ourselves up to the possibility of extreme hurt for that slight chance of success.

I am a mom, I've done this before and for me yes, it is really worth it for me.

Cliche New Year Changes

Yes, I am embarking on changes in the New Year.  It does feel cliche but in some ways it also feels right.

With PCOS, weight can be a main roadblock and factor of infertility.  I, like many other PCOSers, have a weight issue.  I have lost and gained numerous times in the last 10 years.  The  last time was about two years ago and it was going really well, I felt great.  I wasn't following a set diet just a lifestyle and was losing weight consistently.   Then I went through an injectable cycle with IUI and became pregnant, only to have an early miscarriage.  It derailed my focus and in the past two years, I have slowly put back on the weight that I lost.

So, here I am, giving it another go.  My main focus is going to be healthy (lots of fruits and veggies) and very low refined carbs and sugars.  I found that I feel my best when I don't eat anything white.  Pair this with moderate exercise, I think I will be able to chip away at this weight in a healthy manner.

Okay, so I have no problems eating healthy, I like all kinds of foods.  My main problem, or should I say vices are:  coffee and alcohol.  I like to have both.  I have two strong cups of coffee a day and will have a drink with dinner (and maybe a few more on the weekends).  All the reading I have done about PCOS and optimum fertility is that I should eliminate both! NOOOOOOOOO!  I am not in the right place to be able to do both right now.  I know that I can (have done so before) but I don't like it!!!

I am currently loaded with healthy recipes, a grocery list and energy to get motivate!  Wish me luck!

Introduction

Here I go...

Stats:
34 year old female
Married for 9 years
1 son (5 years old)
TTC (trying to conceive)child #2 since 12/07 (yes, 4 years)
PCOS
Unicornate Uterus (http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unicornuate_uterus)
Countless clomid cycles
5 injectable cycles (2 with IUI)
3 early miscarriages

Wow, it's been on crazy roller coaster ride.

I'm here to try to help myself through this painfully frustrating journey we are on. Trying to decide if we are going to pursue any other treatments or if we are done with medical interventions. So many decisions, it gets so jumbled in my head.
